2017 Nissan Rogue
The 2017 Nissan Rogue received a refresh for the new model year. While slight modifications were made to the exterior, significant updates were done to the interior. On the outside of the Rogue you can find a more aggressive version of Nissan’s V-Motion Grille ™, a revised rear-bumper, redesigned headlamps and taillamps, and a bit more chrome. It’s the inside of the 2017 Rogue, new safety options, and the addition of the hybrid engine that make the Rogue stand out in its Compact Crossover class.
The interior of the Rogue received a handful of upgrades which include; a flat bottom steering wheel, a leather shifter boot, new instrument cluster, revised center console & lid and new seat fabric on some trim levels. The SL trim level now is available with heated steering wheel, motion activated liftgate, remote start, and driver’s seat/ mirror memory function. A Platinum Reserve Interior Package that includes tan leather with special quilted leather inserts and a few additional tech options are also available on SL models. New to the SV trim are standard heated front cloth seats and remote start. The Rogue is still available in five or seven passenger configurations, but the hybrid will only be available for five to make room for its lithium-ion battery.
The 2017 Rogue is equipped with great new safety features. Radar-based blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert functions are now available on SV trim levels. Lane-departure warning and prevention are available on SL with active cruise control and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection now available on the Platinum package. Another great feature Nissan’s LATCH ® System. The LATCH System secures LATCH-compatible child restraints in the second row without having to use seat belts or a locking clip. 2017 also brings the addition of the Rogue Hybrid (only offered on SV and SL trim levels.) The Rogue is only the second Compact SUV to offer a hybrid option along with the Toyota Rav4. The hybrid engine is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 141 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque. It has a 40hp lithium-ion battery giving a total output of 176 horsepower. Nissan is predicting that it will achieve 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway*.
Rogue comes equipped with a 2.5-liter engine that features the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System, delivering 170 hp for performance you can feel on the road, along with impressive fuel economy you’ll notice at the pump. Just push a dash-mounted button, and Rogue's Eco Mode kicks in. It adjusts when the Xtronic CVT® Transmission shifts gear ratios, keeping the engine at the ideal speed for improved fuel economy. With the advanced Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), you have a virtually gearless road warrior. It can hold the engine at the ideal engine speed for the job, providing a wave of power when you need it – or low revs for quiet, efficient cruising when you don’t. And when you want to put more control in your hands, activate Rogue’s new Sport Mode for on-demand shifting and enhanced throttle response.
Play music, keep tabs on your social network and more with fully integrated access to your favorite mobile apps. It’s all part of the available NissanConnect system, which helps keep you looped in throughout your journey. Need to make a last-minute dinner reservation? No problem. Now you can use the available Siri® Eyes Free feature without even touching your phone. How easy is it? Just press the button on the steering wheel and you’ll have reservations in no time. The available Bose® audio system features nine strategically placed speakers custom-tuned by Bose® engineers for the Rogue’s unique interior. The system includes dual woofers for intense lows you have to feel to believe.
The available Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) uses four cameras to give you a virtual, composite 360º bird’s-eye view of your vehicle, with selectable split-screen close-ups of the front, rear, and curbside views, so you can get a better look. And when AVM is in use, Moving Object Detection gives you a visual and audible alert when it detects moving objects near the vehicle. Unlike traditional systems that only maintain a set speed, available Intelligent Cruise Control also helps maintain an adjustable set distance between you and the car in front of you.
