2018 Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey has arrived here at Jim Sigel Automotive! The Odyssey, which debuted in 1999, has been the bestselling minivan on the road for SEVEN years running and is leading again in 20171. This is the 5th generation Odyssey, and like all Honda products, has continued to evolve to meet the ever changing demands of its loyal customers.

Starting at $29,9902 for an LX model and topping out at $46,6702 for an Elite model there is an Odyssey for every family. Not only does the new Odyssey come with a slew of new comfort and tech features it is also economically minded achieving 19 city / 28 hwy / 22 combined3 mpg.

The 2018 Odyssey is front wheel drive and powered by a 3.5-liter direct injected i-VTEC ® 24-valve SOHC V6 engine with a Variable Cylinder Management ™ (VCM™). There are two transmission options available on the Odyssey. The LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L NAVI RES utilize a 9-speed automatic transmission while the Touring and Elite debut an all-new 10 speed automatic transmission. The engine deliverers 280 horsepower, which is an improvement of 32 horses and 262 SAE net lb.-ft. torque. This combination gives the 2018 Odyssey best in class acceleration for confidence entering the freeway and traveling up the mountain passes.

Not only does the Odyssey debut a new transmission option, it also steps out with superior performance. The Odyssey has been lightened by 75 pounds and the rigidity has been increased. Another engineering improvement is the dual-pinion electric power steering system and new rear suspension with a stabilizing bar. This combination provides more control of both body roll (side-to-side motion) as well as heave (up-and-down motion) providing a more enjoyable ride on down the road.

From the Magic Slide ™ second row seats, to the suite of connectivity features the Odyssey will keep all your passengers happy and comfortable on long road trips. Powertrain

Under the hood, Honda has installed a new 3.5-liter V-6 which replaces an engine of the same size. This one, however, makes 32 more horsepower for a total of 280 compared to last years model. Along with the V-6 are two new automatic transmissions, a 9-speed and a 10-speed transmission. The Honda-developed 10-speed is a revelation. It shifts smoothly and responsively and also makes full use of the range of its gears. Only the Touring and Elite models will come with the 10-speed.

Technology

The Mobile Control gives your passengers more control, where you can create your own mobile hotspot and access the Odyssey from your phone – this minivan is well-connected. Enjoy wireless streaming capabilities, including audio and entertainment system updates, by using HondaLink® to turn your Odyssey into a mobile hotspot. With CabinControl™ Social Playlist feature, everyone can have a say in the music played by simply adding a song to a playlist through the CabinControl™ app. Use the HondaLink® app to remotely start the engine and preheat or precool the interior so the temperature is perfect before you even open the door.
